Parenting

Parenting therapy and coaching can help you build confidence, reduce stress, and create a more peaceful, connected family. I am a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and I use this research-backed approach, developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen, to help parents build effective strategies, stay calm under pressure, and foster respectful, cooperative relationships with their children.

Positive Discipline focuses on helping parents develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and practical tools to guide children without guilt, punishment, or power struggles. The emphasis is on empowering you as a parent to feel capable, confident, and calm in your day-to-day interactions.

As a parent with young kids, plus my experience with hundreds of kids with backgrounds in neurodivergence, trauma, and other mental health concerns, I appreciate bringing in multiple perspectives to find the right "theory of parenting" for you. I tend to blend in current neuroscience and relationship research from Dr. Dan Siegel alongside the structure and warmth that Positive Discipline has to offer.

Do you feel overwhelmed by the demands of parenting? Are you struggling to stay patient when stress or frustration takes over? Do you wish you had strategies to respond calmly, stay consistent, and feel more confident in your choices?

    • Manage your own stress and reactions – Learn strategies to stay grounded, even in the most challenging moments.

    • Increase confidence in your parenting – Gain clarity around boundaries, routines, and approaches that feel authentic to you.

    • Strengthen your connection with your family – Communicate with empathy and intention, fostering mutual respect and understanding.

    • Navigate challenges without guilt or self-blame – Receive support for feelings of frustration, overwhelm, or uncertainty.

Create sustainable routines and strategies – Implement approaches that work for your family without constant stress or conflict.

  • Parenting support can take the form of therapy, coaching, or a combination, tailored to your needs. Sessions are offered via telehealth, meeting you where you're at. Together, you and I will identify goals, explore practical strategies, and integrate Positive Discipline tools so you can feel more grounded, confident, and capable in your parenting journey.

It is up to you and your child's relationships on whether we work on parent coaching 1-1 together, or we have multiple caregivers in the room. Ultimately you feeling supported means your child will feel supported too.

  • Parenting can feel overwhelming, but support can make it manageable and even rewarding. Through guidance rooted in Positive Discipline, you can:

    • Reduce stress and emotional overwhelm

    • Feel more confident and empowered in your choices

    • Foster deeper connection and understanding within your family

    • Develop routines and strategies that support both you and your family's well-being

Parenting doesn’t have to feel like a constant struggle. Reach out today to schedule a consultation and explore how Positive Discipline–based therapy and coaching can help you feel calmer, more confident, and more connected in your family life.
